Latin Ventures
Travelling in a small group you can expect to see some of the most memorable sights in the country you visit. You'll also meet Latin Link members, experience church worship Latin American-style, see projects in action, and spend a worthwhile day helping out. And you'll have the benefit of an accompanying Latin Link leader throughout the trip. Each Venture will include a sponsored challenge, like to climb a mountain, go on a jungle trek or do a bike ride. For the less physically inclined, the challenge may simply be to raise funds. We ask that each person fundraises a minimum of £500 for Latin Link before or after the trip.
Latin Venture Ecuador: 'Tropical Kaleidoscope' Spring 2009
This precious tropical destination offers an unfolding panorama of God's creation: from little islands off the sparkling Pacific coast, to the foothills of the Andes, and across to the jungles in the east. You'll get a taste of the life and work of Latin Link's Ecuador team, take the two-day challenge trek, and spend a worthwhile day helping out at Orphaids, a centre and home for children affected by HIV/Aids. New for Autumn 2009: Latin Venture Brazil
Latin Venture Peru: 'The Inca Challenge' 2010
Machu Picchu, the 'lost city of the Incas' was recently voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. So if you've always dreamed of seeing this spectacular sight, let this be your chance. Come with Latin Link to fulfil that ambition and raise funds at the same time. Latin Venture Peru will be a great chance to visit some of the best sights the country has to offer and see another side of Peru that the backpackers miss out on. The group will visit projects in the shantytowns surrounding Lima and Latin Link members in Cusco. There will be a chance to join with Latin American Christians for church and get a taste of what life and mission is like in Peru. All this should spur you on when the going gets tough on the four-day trek to Machu Picchu, knowing that the money you raise will go to help people and projects, and further the work of Latin Link. |
