At 72, Arthur Willis (above left) is the oldest member of a Latin Link Step Plus Team spending four weeks with church projects in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador.

One of the driving forces behind Step Plus, Arthur has taken on the legacy of Latin Link's Douglas Edmonds who died a few years ago aged 75. Douglas first saw the opportunity for older people to take part in Step, a Latin American experience programme originally conceived for young people.

This is Arthur's third Step venture. Laurence East, who co-ordinated the programme, echoes Arthur's enthusiasm: 'We see Step Plus as an important thing for the future.'

Step Plus is for committed Christians who are a little older than the average Stepper but  who feel they could still help dig foundations and mix concrete - as well as use their other valuable life skills.
